Week 1: Personal Collections
To begin thinking about
the act of collecting, we will have an opportunity to critically analyze the
collections belonging to those in our community. To do this, we will
participate in a “See, Think, Wonder” activity.
Goal 1:
To begin thinking about what we already know
about the act of “collecting”
Goal 2:
To introduce ourselves in a new way
Goal 3:
To (re)introduce this fun inquiry activity,
so that you can do it in your our classroom/libraries.
If our profession is to remain viable in the 21st Century,
prioritizing inquiry pedagogy is CRITICAL.

Part A: In your "comment" below to this blog post, I'd like for you to introduce yourself. Tell us about your:
+background
(educational/work experiences)
+interests
+hobbies
+something risky that
you've done (please keep it about legal things)
Part B: In the
same post, insert pictures of something you collect (not as a separate
attachment - but embedded within the post). Don't tell us what it is,
just post pictures of it from a number of angles/perspectives. This will
provide materials for us to work on the "see" part of the see, think,
wonder.
[If we were face to face,
we'd put all of our representations of collections out on our desks, and we'd
do a gallery walk. We'd try to see the collections from different angles
to figure out what they are and what they might represent.]
Part C: Resist the temptation to reply to folks this first week. Instead, just be sure you've read all the posts and seen the pictures of all collections.
I can't wait to learn more
about you - and also to "see" your personal collection. Below is my favorite "collection."
Wishing you a wonderful
week,
~jmf
PS I've explained what
constitutes a "collection" in one of the audio lectures posted post.

Week 2 Discussion Part 1
ReplyDeleteBackground: I started my higher education journey at what is now Lone Star College-Tomball in the fall of 1994. I then took ten years off because life got in the way. I resumed my education in the spring of 2005 through the Lone Star College System, although it wasn't called that yet, graduating with my Associate of Arts in May 2007. I transferred to SHSU in the fall of 2007, majoring in English and minoring in secondary education. In December 2009, I received my Bachelor of Arts in English, and became a second generation Bearkat graduate. If all goes well, I will receive my Master's degree in the same ceremony that my son will receive his BA in English.
As to work, I have been a grocery store cashier, a cafeteria lady, a receptionist/benefits administrator, stay at home mom, movie theater concessionist, tutor at Sylvan Learning Center, and finally, high school English teacher.
My interests include: cavern tours, history (primarily the Salem Witch Trials, Tudor England, and Texas History) and visiting historical sites, music, animals (visiting zoos and aquariums, as well as my four dogs), dabbling in aromatherapy, renaissance faires.
My hobbies include: reading (of course!), jigsaw puzzles, day trips, spending time with my family-both immediate and extended, watching movies, shooting my pistols at the gun range, and Friday night high school football (Oak 'em up!).
Risky behavior: Honestly, I am a dud. I don't really engage in risky behavior, but I guess the riskiest thing I ever did was "throw my life away" at eighteen to have my son. There was no guarantee I'd ever get to go back to school (college), or be able to provide the kind of life for both of us that I wanted to. At eighteen, that's scary business.

DeleteHi Mandi,
DeleteYour collection makes me think of my sister's porcelain doll collection. She has all sizes and kinds and stored in a china cabinet.
I wonder if your collection is a "royal" one or includes other dolls as well.
Interesting!
Sandra
Hi Mandy,
DeleteYour collection makes me think about my good friend Rachel's porcelain doll collection which she has in a china cabinet on display in her living room. She has various size dolls but also a collection of porcelain high-heel shoes.
I wonder if your collection only has dolls or does it include other accessories as well.
Fascinating!
Hi Mandy,
DeleteYour collection makes me think of royalty.
I wonder if these are replicas of royal figures.
Intriguing.
Hi Mandy
DeleteYou collection makes me think of memories of when I was a young child playing for hours with my dolls.
I wonder if you have any that I used to play with?
Reminiscing

DeleteHi Mandy
DeleteYour collection makes me think of my grandmothers collection that she had when we were younger.
I wonder if your collection is similar.

Hi Mandy,
DeleteYour collection reminds me of the porcelain dolls my mother used to buy me when I was little.
I wonder if we have any of the same ones?
Fun memories!
My name is Lana Wallace and I’m from Houston, Texas. I am currently the Lower
ReplyDeleteSchool Librarian Librarian at Second Baptist School. I graduated from Baylor
University with a Bachelor of Business Administration, majoring in Information
Systems. I worked for a technology-consulting firm for about 5 years until I decided
to pursue my teaching certification. I realized I liked training people more than
designing and building databases. I also didn’t care for traveling 95% of the time.
After certification, I taught computer courses in Humble I.S.D. I took some time off
when my kids were born and two years ago decided to go back to work at my kids
school. I didn’t originally apply for the Librarian position, but this is where I ended
up (long story) and I couldn’t imagine working in any other profession. Some of my
interests and hobbies include cycling, reading, and I’m obsessed with cosmetics, which drives my husband crazy! Probably the riskiest thing I’ve ever done is quitting my consulting job during the recession with no new job lined up. I knew there was something out there in the education field that would be my passion. Although it took me 8 years, I have finally found it working in a school library. I believe my risky move has paid
off.

Hi Lana,
DeleteYour collection makes me think about going to Paris to actually purchase the perfumes directly from the designer. I bet they smell amazing! I know what I want for Valentine's Day :)
I wonder if your collection consisted of mainly gifts or items you purchased as must-haves.
Love It!
Your collection reminds me of the perfume I would buy my mother for Christmas and birthdays.
DeleteI wonder will you keep the bottles once they are empty?
Hi Lana,
DeleteYour collection reminds me of my mom's perfume collection.
I wonder how many different perfumes you have.
Smelly. :o)
Hello! Your collection makes me think of vintage bottles I used to decorate my wedding. I wonder if there is a feature about these bottles that attract you to them.
DeleteHi, looking at your collection makes me think of getting dressed up for fancy dates and events. I wonder when you started collecting these lovely perfumes.
DeleteHello,
DeleteYour collection makes me think of the times I had to sit and wait for all my sisters to get ready.
I wonder what makes you select which type to buy.
Fragerence.
Hello, I agree with Jasmine, your collection makes me think about getting dressed up for a special date. Your collection is awesome.
DeleteHello, your collection reminds me of my dear mother and her perfumes. I wonder how many you have.
DeleteHello Everyone!
ReplyDeleteMy name is Kristina Bland. This is my second semester at SHSU, and getting back into the swing of things. I been married for one year, but my husband and I been together for 9 years. He is serving in the Army and will be gone for the next 6 months. So I moved back and been camping out in my parent’s bedroom for company. It’s been a balancing act with work and school ever since. So here it goes:
I work currently at The Montessori School of San Antonio, here in San Antonio, TX. I teach Art here and I love it. I am grateful for the flexibility and getting to work with a range of ages from Kindergarten through Middle School. Before Montessori, I worked at Northside Independent School District teaching Art at Robert Vale Middle School. Before I was a teacher, I did years of retail from Neiman Marcus, Tommy Bahama, Urban Outfitters… and the list goes on and on. I received my college degree at the University of Texas at San Antonio. It is a Bachelor’s of Art in Arts with teaching certification EC-12.
My main interest would definitely be in Art. Specifically I am more interested in Modern Art. I listen to a lot of styles of music, but typically I listen to Island/Reggae music. Photography was my main medium of study in art school and I continue to take photos today. I am obsessed with horror movies and books, and not the torture kind of horror. When I think of horror it is more on the lines of ghosts, ghouls, monsters and all in between. I think it is the mystery and suspense aspect of the genre that entertains me.
I love Art (in case you haven’t noticed). That is why I teach it! In my spare time, if I get any, I like to paint and take photos. I am a walker. I like to walk everywhere; it’s a great way to reflect. If I lived closer to a beach, I would be there everyday. I move a lot because of the military and I have always lived near a beach. San Antonio is the first place where I don’t live close to one.
To me, riding a roller coaster is risky. I am afraid of those things! However, I have hiked in Hawaii before. The heights were insane! Also when I lived I spent some time in the Philippines. I hopped on a small boat with my siblings to go snorkeling g far into the ocean. I cried seeing how large the waves were, but I made it back safely.
Glad to meet everyone! I am excited for the new semester! Here is a link to my collection.... I don't know if it will work. The comment box won't let you copy/paste or add photos.

DeleteHi Kristina! Your collection makes me think of my eldest daughter! She loves Adventure Time and the Regular Show. The rest makes me think of the Japanese anime that she loves! I wonder if you love the art or the toys?! :)
DeleteKristina,
DeleteYour collection makes me think about this time that a friend collected a bunch of happy meal toys for me for a gift once.
I wonder what makes a toy stand out to you as a must have.

Hi,
ReplyDeleteI graduated with my BS in 2009 from SHSU. I immediately began a long term sub position as an ESL teacher for 6th, 7th and 8th grade at Ross Sterling Middle School. I was hired there as a teacher for the next school year and thought there three more years. I then thought ELD in Sheldon ISD at C. E. King Middle School. I was teaching six different subjects by the second semester. This year I decided to take a year off since I got married, moved to kingwood and started this program. I now work as a receptionist at my church which allows me to. See my husband who is a cop and works late hours. If I was teaching this year we would only see each other on Sundays.
My intrest are currently reading in studying criminal law on the side and cooking delicious food.
I like to paint and draw from time to time and also like quilting and sewing.

ReplyDeleteYour collection makes me think about my teacher table at school. I have post-its EVERYWHERE! lol
DeleteI wonder have you ever used a color system for your post-its?
Hi Jasmine!
DeleteYour collection makes me think of the movie Romy and Michele's High School Reunion when they said they invented Post-It Notes to impress their high school classmates
I wonder how the world would be different with no post-its……. So sad :(
So colorful!
hello! Your collection makes me think of how many reminders i need! I put post-it's everywhere! Fridge, walls of my room, the front door, my desk is worse.
DeleteI wonder how many post it note pads you have.
Jasmine,
DeleteYour collection makes me think about my computer screen at work and how it's littered with sticky notes.
I wonder what kind of system you have for importance of notes.
Busy
Jasmine, what a collection. I use a lot of post-it notes but I never thought about collecting. I like it.
DeleteJasmin, your collection reminds me of my RTI folders. I wonder if they are color coded depending on the level of importance.
DeleteHello, I am Amy Sanchez and I live right outside of Victoria, TX. If you're not sure where that is, it is 25 minutes from the coast and 2 hours from Houston, Austin, San Antonio, and Corpus Christi. This is my 18th year in education. I was a kindergarten teacher for 10 years and a second grade teacher for 7 years. This is my first year as the school librarian on my campus. It has been such a great experience and I am loving it! My fiance and I have six kids between the two of us, so we are quite a big family (but the craziness is fun). My interest and hobbies are family, horses (we have 5), travel, reading, and movies. I guess something risky I have done would be zip-lining and white water rafting.

Hello!
DeleteYour collection makes me think about how I still find coins here and there from Japan and the Philippines even though it's been years since I lived there.
I wonder what is your favorite place to travel.
Hi,
DeleteYour collection reminds me of trips and adventures in foreign countries.
I wonder if you have a special map showing all the places you have gone and wish to go.
Amy,
DeleteYour collection remeinds me of mine. :)
I wonder if you have particular memories asscoitated with these.

Amy, your collection reminds me of trips I took to Mexico and bought snacks in the corner store with Mexican coins. I wonder how many different currency you have in your collection.
DeleteHi Everybody!
ReplyDeleteI'm Michelle Davis and I live in Fairhope, Alabama. I work at Magnolia School which is a little kinder-6th grade elementary school about 20 minutes away from my house.
My background (educational/work experiences) –
Well, after I graduated high school waaaaay back in 1984, I started college and finished one whole semester. At that point my mom had run out of money for my school and I didn’t know anything about financial aid back then, so I got a job and found an apartment. I worked in fast food for a little while, and moved up the career ladder to selling shoes. My mom had a friend who was a manager at an Acute Care/Hospice Inpatient facility. She needed a medical supply clerk and she hired me! That began my long career, 18 years, in healthcare. I worked my way from clerk to Office Manager and then moved into the IT department. At that point I realized that without a college degree I was not going to be able to advance any further. I worked part-time at the hospital while I finished my degree. The year I turned 40 I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Elementary Education. I work at the same school where I did my student teaching. I student taught for a year in 5th grade and the principal hired me the next year to teach 6th. I only managed to survive there for one year and then I moved to 3rd grade. I loved that and I was there for three years before I moved to kindergarten. I adored kinder and taught there for three years, but two years ago I was given a chance to return to 5th grade with a group of awesome teachers! I love this age as well but now I’ve developed a reputation for moving around the school every three years, so when our librarian decided to think about retirement she came to me and encouraged me to return to school! So here I am…teaching 5th grade math and science and going to school with you guys – hoping to graduate by next spring. ☺
Interests -
Oh, so many…my family’s histories – they are from Scotland and were missionaries that settled on the islands off the coast of Honduras. Scottish history, Irish history, golden retrievers, how kids think, how technology works…so many random interests!
Hobbies -
I used to think that reading was my hobby, now I’m not so sure – I read so much for school I don’t have time to read for fun!! I don’t have much time for anything but school, school, and my kids (at school and at home).
Something risky that I've done -
I tried to teach Meaghan, my youngest, to drive stick shift!! Picture this: excitable 20-year-old, rainy parking lot, stick-shift Rav4(mini-suv), around midnight – there were still people driving around in our danger-zone!!! Crazy! I even have video to remind me not to do it again!! ☺
I’m too scattered to have just one collection so I am giving you a representation of several!
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bz8YnGN_S8tvSWZhOVhXWGUxOVk/view?usp=sharing
i'm hoping that my first link just didn't work! :):) Sorry! I'll try again!

I wonder how many you have total.

ReplyDeleteHello, my name is Sandra C. Rios. Although, I was born and raised in the valley, I went to school in Illinois for my early elementary years, k-3. Yes, I’m one of those parents that can safely say, “What do you mean you can’t walk? I walked to school in the snow.” I currently live and work in Mission, Texas. I am married and have two amazing teenage boys, Matthew, a senior, and Mark a freshman. I also have 2 dogs, Odie, a beagle, and Luke, a Chihuahua. In my 19 years in the classroom, I’ve had the opportunity to teach grades 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and currently 5th grade. They are a wonderful group to work with. I’m on the artistic side and enjoy everything in that realm. I find it relaxing. I also love to read and share books with others. Besides feeling claustrophobic in elevators, I do fear heights. Which brings me to something risky I’ve done, skiing and traveling 30 minutes up a meandering, narrow road to get to the top of the ski resort. Ugh, talk about stress! By the way, I wasn’ the driver. No way! I can’t even drive on one lane freeways that are high! I do love road trips and have driven to Chicago, but of course I drove through all the nice and calm, rural roads, and small towns.

Hi Sandra,
Delete-Your collection makes me think of my own Peanuts collection that I have. I started collecting peanuts figurines from Hallmark my first year teaching, but I stopped a while back. Sadly, my collection is boxed up in the attic until I get a big enough house to display all of them in a display case accordingly-so I guess you could say my collection is "in-active" for now.
-I wonder if you started your Peanuts collection as a child or as an adult?
Great Collection!
-Yilsa de los Santos
Hi Sandra!
DeleteYour collection, like Yilsa said as well, reminds me of my little Peanuts collection. In one of the pictures you posted, I could see on of the Peanuts photomosaic puzzles, and I have all four from that collection hanging in my classroom. Can't go wrong with Charlie Brown and the gang!
I wonder just how many different types of Peanuts items you have? Meaning, is it just figurines and puzzles, or is it more than that?
Mandy
Hi Sandra
DeleteYour collection makes me think of our neighbor's Christmas yard inflatable with Snoopy as the Red Baron sitting on top of his dog house.
I wonder which you like better: Snoopy or Woodstock?
Hello! Your collection makes me think of the holidays, because that is when my family watches the Peanuts movies. I wonder which one is your favorite peanuts movie.
DeleteHi Sandra,
DeleteYour collection makes me think of my son's first Halloween costume. He made a super cute Charlie Brown! I wonder which one is your favorite peanuts character?
Sandra,
DeleteYour collection reminds me of the holidays and my neices.
I wonder which other cartoons you like.
Great collection.
Hello all,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Jimmy G. Mai.
I've been a teacher for 7 years now. I first taught at McReynolds Middle School, then at Sam Houston Math, Science and Technology Center for four years. I am currently teaching at KIPP Generations Collegiate, a charter high school. I've taught all levels of English, ESL and also theatre. Currently I am teaching English III but am also serving as the 11th grade level chair.
My interests include military history, theatre, firearms, comic books, video games, music (metal, classic, jazz, country, I know I know)
My hobbies would be working out at the gym and running, while writing whenever I can and going to the rifle range on saturdays.
A risk I have taken in the past is open up my own theatre company. We had two great seasons, were featured on NPR twice, reviewed by the Houston Chronicle and Houston Press. I loved every minute of it, but unfortunately as with all the arts I was bleeding money. I hope to do it once again, but this time it will be a calculated risk, not the gungho attitude of a 24 year old.
Here is the link to my collection, my apologies, I could not get it to embed.

DeleteI wonder what is your oldest coin.
Interesting.
Hello! Your collection makes me think of my grandmother and how she collected all the U.S. quarters. I wonder which coin is the oldest.
DeleteI checked! lol, it's a penny, a very old 1924 penny.

DeleteYour collection makes me think of my sister's Cubs collection. Every time she goes to a game, she takes her same cap and baseball, to get players' autographs. She has lots. I wonder, since you're a Spurs fan,are all those Spurs signatures? I recognized one #22. Is that correct?
Cool and valuable collection.

Hi Cristofer,
DeleteYour collection made me think of some movies I really like. One of my all time favorites is When Harry Met Sally (I still laugh like crazy every time I watch it). Your collection made me wonder if you collected mostly "older" movies or does it include some newer, more current movies?
Cristofer,
DeleteYour collection immediately got me wanting to watch all kinds of movies.
I wonder which is your favorite.
About Me: I always wanted to be a teacher since I was growing up and I believed that my calling was to serve children at the middle school level. So, I obtained an Associate Degree in Middle School Education from South Texas College in 2007. After graduating, I decided to change my major to Elementary Education because I wasn’t sure I wanted to be a teacher at the middle school level, but I knew I still wanted to serve children. I obtained my Bachelor Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies EC-6 with a minor in Bilingual Education from University of Texas at Pan-American in 2009. While I was attending college, I was also employed with the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD since 2006 as a substitute teacher at the middle school level. That was one of the main reason I changed my major when I entered the university. I had some interesting and challenging experiences as a substitute. However, in 2007 I was able to obtain a para-professional position at an elementary campus in a Pre-Kindergarten classroom and that is when I discovered my future in the classroom. I was a teacher-aide for 3 years in Pre-K meanwhile I finished with my bachelor degree. Finally, in 2010 I was able to obtain a position as a 5th grade teacher and I have been in the classroom for the last 5years. I love teaching and always will, but the pressure of a STAAR testing grade has led me to believe that I can be more effective as a school librarian and better influence children with a passion for learning through reading.
ReplyDeleteInterest: I love spending time with my family, especially since I have so many children. I have four kids, so any extra time I get to spend with them really means a lot to me. I have recently over the last two years become a strong believer in Christ, and I really enjoy going to church and learning more about him every Sunday. Reading is something I truly enjoy when I have any spare time because it helps me to relax and break away from my daily routine. I really wish I could find more time to do so. I have recently begun exercising because I feel it is extremely important to just take some time and take care of you.
Hobbies: I will be very honest in the fact that I really don’t have many hobbies. Managing my children, work and home life doesn’t really leave me much time to just sit and enjoy myself. So, I would have to say my hobby would be taking pictures. I was looking through some albums that I have been collecting over the years and I enjoy being able to look back at those memories simply by glancing at some photos. Recently the focus of the majority of my pictures has shifted to my daughter whom is 11 months old. I love being able to document special moments in her life through pictures. I would have to say that since my first son was born about 10 years ago, all my photos focus mainly on my children in order to capture these priceless moments of their lives. They grow up so fast, so I want to have as many photos of them as possible.
Risky Behavior: I have a very sensitive stomach due to the fact that I had a really bad infection in my intestines about two years ago. Over the Christmas break I got really sick again and I had to go back to the doctor. Luckily we caught the infection before I got really sick, but one of the restrictions on my diet was red meat. The doctor recommended that I stay away from red meat and try to fill my diet with fiber rich foods so I quickly did everything the doctor asked. One night a few weeks later my husband and I went out for dinner and I just couldn’t resist the delicious ribs on the menu. I gave in and had a taste, it was delicious. However, it was just a taste. I didn’t want to get sick but I just couldn’t say no. So that is what I would consider my risky behavior.

Hi Melissa,
Delete-Your collection actually made me think of the time my husband wanted to buy me a Pandora bracelet, but I told him, nah...I won't wear it-->Biggest mistake ever!! I've been waiting and hoping he goes to Jared's, but no such luck since then :(
-I wonder how many different charm combinations you have created using the charms that you own?
Lovely Collection! :)

Hi Melissa! Your collection makes me think that I should have used mine as my collection! I love my Pandora - I wonder which is your favorite charm and why?
DeleteHello! My name is Stacey Royal and I am excited to be here! I graduated from Texas Wesleyan University in 2004 and this is my 11th year teaching. I taught Kindergarten for 9 years and this is my second year in 1st grade. I have taught in the same school the entire time. My interests and hobbies include reading and spending time with my family. I would love one day to become a children's author. I recently moved and my parents are my next door neighbors (that's risky!).

Hello! Your collection makes me think of my last teaching job, they gave me a shirt for everything! I wonder if you collect any other t-shirts, like a sports team?
DeleteYour collection makes me think of my own t-shirt collection. The majority of my t-shirt wardrobe consists of shirts where I teach and SHSU shirts. :)
DeleteI wonder if you, like my son did when he graduated high school, will have your shirts made into a quilt?
Hi all! My name is Megan Pearson, and I live in Little Elm, TX. I grew up in a small town in Mississippi and have only lived in the great state of Texas for 4 years. I graduated from Mississippi State University in 2005 with a Bachelor’s degree in Educational Psychology. I also earned my Master’s degree from MSU in Special Education, Emotional and Behavioral Disorders. I currently work on 2 elementary campuses in Carrollton-Farmer’s Branch ISD as a Behavior Resource Specialist. I work with students with special needs who struggle in managing their behaviors. It is a very fun and interesting job, and I rarely have a boring day.
ReplyDeleteI don’t have too many hobbies these days as my husband and I had our first child in April. We don’t have the luxury of free family babysitters at the moment since both of our families are in Mississippi. But we wouldn’t trade our little guy for anything. We love going to play at the park, going for walks, playing around the house and reading books. My husband and I also love college football. I am a Mississippi State fan and my husband is an obnoxious Alabama fan, so we have a lot of arguments during football season. All in good fun!
I would say the biggest risk I have taken lately was moving to Texas away from my family. My husband and I had been dating for around 8 months when he was offered a job at Hewlett Packard in Plano, TX. He asked if I would move with him, and of course, I said yes. We decided to get married, planned our wedding in a month, and moved to Texas the day after our wedding. It has been such a fun journey!

Megan,
DeleteI was drawn to your post for a couple of reasons. First, I was supposed to be a Megan, but my dad decided I needed a more "old fashioned" name. Second, you come from a small town in Mississippi, and I have family from a small town in Mississippi.
Anyway.....
Your collection makes me think of something I wish I could do: pottery. It also reminds me of my aunt's cross collection. One more thing it reminds me of is the Empty Bowls fundraiser the Art Club does at my school every year. So many of those beautiful student made bowls look similar to those you posted.
I wonder if, in addition to collecting the pottery, you make it as well?
Hi Megan - Your collection makes me think of the Fairhope Arts and Crafts Festival that my little town has been having every March for the last 75 years or so. I wonder if you made your own pieces or if you find them at shows?!
DeleteMegan,
DeleteYour collection immediately took me back to my grandmothers and grandfathers ranch. Man do I miss going to that place.
I wonder what other kind of potter you have.
Great stuff.
My name is Enelda Mata and I’m from Brownsville, Texas. I am currently a 2nd Grade Bilingual Teacher for the Brownsville ISD. I received my Bachelor Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies EC-4 in Bilingual Education from the University of Texas at Brownsville in 2004. I’ve taught Kindergarten for 9 years and I’m on my 2nd year in Second Grade and I Love It! My interest and my hobbies are spending as much time as I can with my children. Between the three of them I’m carpooling daily to soccer, volleyball, basketball, swimming, ballet and tap. Something risky that I just did was registering for the Jailbreak Race-South Padre Island for this coming May.

Hi Enelda,
DeleteYour collection made me think of my two boys and all the toys they have, how much they would love to tear into those boxes :), and a brother-in-law who loves Star Wars. As I was looking at your pictures I was wondering how many cars there were and if there were toys you collected that I was unable to see?
Amy
First of all....WOW!!!
DeleteYour collection made me think of my husband, and how he had all the original Star Wars toys but they all got left at a house they moved out of. I wonder which is your favorite?
Hi Enelda - Your collection makes me think of all of the Beanie Babies we had in my house while my girls were growing up! I wonder if your children are all boys and will the cars be theirs someday?
DeleteHi Enelda,
ReplyDeleteWow! Your collection makes me think of my dad's matchbox collection he had as a child that was passed down to my brother. His collection was no where near as large as yours though. I wonder how many items you have in your collection?
Impressive!
Hi! My name is Jacqueline Hunt. I was born in Natchez, Mississippi. I have two
ReplyDeletechildren; a son (Eric), and a daughter (Any'a). I'm a 5th grade teacher in a prominent school district. I chose this career because I love working with children. My hobbies and interests include reading books and playing Candy Crush.
Life to me, means family whom you can trust and who trusts you. My daddy family is from Ireland and my mother's family is from Mississippi. They united and brought forth thirteen beautiful children. I'm the youngest of my sisters. Having a large family is awesome. My parents laid a solid foundation in our lives leading by example and instilling Christian values. They instilled moral and values in all of us. We also learned how to value an education. "God has truly blessed my family." All of my siblings and my mother are still living. My daddy is deceased. My family is not perfect, but I love them all anyway. We enjoy spending time with each other.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Educational Psychology, Master of Science in
Elementary Education K-8. I've been teaching for 7 years; 4 years on the Middle School level 6-8 and 3 years with 5th grade. I’m currently teaching science and it’s an everyday struggle.
Something risked I’ve done in the past was uprooted my family from Mississippi to Texas without a plan.
